I visited a picnic in ANTONHOUSE - unique opportunity to see the newly
completed ARCHPOLE’s project. It is an event where everyone could spend the whole
day and explore the World of Russian Industrial Design. The World of Russian
Industrial Design was represented by several Russian companies: ARCHPOLE,
FINEOBJECTS, COOPERATIVE PIONEER , PLAYPLY, MECHANICAL WOOD SHESTЁRENKI, PLY.
They create The Club of Product Designers. The Club of Product
Designers (CPD), as they claim, is a union of Russian designers who have one
goal: to implement new ideology in Russian design world. They use industrial
equipment, manufacturing, complex engineering drawings, design diagrams,
formula which lead to ideal and unique objects. They want to produce goods
which could be available for everyone due to this idea they should not be
expensive. Another main principle of their
businesses is production in
Most of people were designers and
architects. Visitors could take kids, family members, friends to this picnic.
All guests had to wear black and white, wool socks and bring some food to the event. There was rich lecture program from members of
the CPD like an overview of new companies’ trends, presentation of novelties
related to each company and the story about creation of ANTONHOUSE - an
experimental project of ARCHPOLE.
The house has black façade which is not typical for Russian countyhouses
and huge windows around it. It seems transparent. In the evening time when it
is light inside the house I reminded me a phantom. Inside it made out of wood,
it is not colored, all household items plus front door and staircase are black.
This object looks different from the other buildings in this area but harmonically
with a nature because there a lot of birches which are also black and white.
ANTONEHOUSE has simple square shape and lines, this principal apply to
all objects in the house. Some water cocks, for example, made like pipes. All
these reminded me the Bauhause idea.
Staircase is the main object in the house. It made out of concrete and
looks massive but it attracted the most
attention. People used it not only to go upstairs but most of the time they
just stand on stairs talking or listening lectures thus changing its function.
On the second floor most rooms have hidden doors which are retract in
walls, it creates open space. Furthermore
in one room bathroom partition made from transparent glass.
I talked with owners of the housed and they told me that this project and
communication with these designers and architects changed them completely,
their preferences, understanding of the space and even way of life.
I enjoyed this event very much. I met interesting people and got
knowledge about new trends and methods of creation design obgects.
