Burganov's House

‘Burganov’s House’ is the Moscow State Museum which is located not far from Kropotkinskaya metro station. The collection of this museum presents a big number of sculptures created by Russian contemporary artist Alexander Burganov, his family and friends.

The museum is absolutely unusual. At first, the biggest part of the collection is placed outdoors all year round. It is a yard surrounded by multi-store houses from every direction. In summer this space looks like a wonderful green garden where all the sculptures stand in between trees and flowers, but in the winter evening its appearance is completely different. The yard seems mysterious and frightening in evening twilight when the white sculptures looks dark and cast long narrow shadows.

The second feature of ‘Burganov’s House’ is that artist’s workshops are a part of the exposition, so every guest can visit any room on the territory of the museum including the workshops to observe sketches, tests and unfinished sculptures.

And the most impressive thing is that visitors can touch everything they face with. It is the reason why this space is loved by blind people. There is no another museum in Moscow available for such people.
So, ‘Burganov’s House’ is the museum which is open for everybody despite of the age, weather and other factors. it is really worth it to visit this unusual place.
