This fall there was a worth noting exhibition in my home town Zelenograd. 19 photographers from many russian cities showed more then 100 beautiful photo-works in various alternative techniques. Among them Lith-print, cyanotype, platinum-palladium, ziatype print, gum arabic print, ambrotype, polaroid lift and other rarely used and forgotten photo-processes.
Every single photo easily perceived as an artwork because of the well selected techniques. So if you are familiar with instagram - you probably know different appreciation of it’s effects. On this exhibition you could see many of those “effects” but made real. You can feel the atmosphere, air, transparency, subtle and delicate work of light and shadow. And in reality such photos produce magic effect.
I’m very proud that this exhibition is carried by my school teacher of math - renowned artist and photographer Alexey Belov. He manages to run it once in every two years. Each time it's a pleasure to see such beautiful works of art.
So it definitely worth visiting this special exhibition.
