Maurits Cornelis Escher. Moscow exhibition

Legendary artist - legendary works.

Dear colleagues, I suppose you all have been visited this exhibition in Moscow last December. Because, people who interested in space and volume can not pass by this amazing artist and his fascinating work. If you still have not got on this exhibition for some reasons, let me bring to your attention to my short review.

Despite being world famous the first exhibition of Escher's works was previously held only once in the State Hermitage in Russia. Exhibition at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art was the second one and allowed to see how the most famous works of Escher and look at his work from the inside due to archival materials .

It is believed that the graphics by Escher influenced contemporary design and animation. Esher is known primarily for his surreal lithographs, woodcuts and metal, in which he explored the plastic aspects of the concept of infinity and symmetry as well as the characteristics of the psychological perception of complex three-dimensional objects and "impossible figures". Enchanted " impossible figures " and paradoxes in nature, Escher took ideas from the non-Euclidean geometry, mathematical interpretation of the law articles and continued to explore form and space using optical illusions in his works.
Almost all Esher's works are located in a special fund MK Escher in the Netherlands (MC Escher Foundation). The previous exhibition in Russia was held long time ago in the Hermitage, and who knows when it is happen next.
