Moscow we have lost

Photo exhibition dedicated to the theme of old and new Moscow with examples of wilderness architectural buildings in comparison of what is formed on their places after being ruined.

Surely some of the examples does look more aesthetically pleasing to the audience and have greater historical impact such as GYM which have been placed instead of Upper Trading Rows. Despite the fact that this rows was important due to economical influence with retail and wholesale, architects did not change the concept dramatically but made the place look phenomenal.

Nevertheless, some of the samples did shock me to the very roots of one's being, where beautiful churches, historical monuments, was turned into ugly houses for people to live in or shopping centers.

In the small dark room at the corner visitors had an opportunity to watch an old film with scenes of how monuments and buildings have been first created and then destroyed. The most of the audience were driven into tears.

After the visit to the Moscow's Museum people have a good food for thoughts of what stands in priority to our city, how architects treat the surroundings and how we care about the history.

  4. That is very sad to see how architects build something and do not look at the place around, you can even notice it in everyday life as you walk around Moscow. Very good points mentioned in your reference!

  5. After reading seriously consider visiting the event. I just love the old streets of Moscow, which have escaped urbanization and survived to this day such as they are. Sad to see something beautiful, with its own history is replaced by a concrete block to obtain benefits.

  6. Gooood statement, but it's easy to show red square.
In my opinion, if u wanna attract people to "changes in Moscow" u have to show culture clusters, like which one u study. It's really amazing place, cuz it's "grey building", as architecture designer u have to show how people work with interior design.
And one wish for u, when u quoting other people's titles use "title", it really helps u in future life with big statement
