The Kunst Haus Wien

During this winter holidays i have been to Vienna and of course visited the Kunst Haus Wien, as Friedenreich Hundertwasser is one of my favorite artists. Hundertwasser is not very famous in the world, and even in his hometown, in Vienna he is dominated by Gustav Klimt, who is everywhere.

Hundertwasser, having lived in the 20th century, is not only a painter, but a graphic artist and architect. It all is reflected in the Hundertwasser's museum was created during the time (namely, in the 1991), when the artist was alive. Moreover, exactly he was the creator of it, he projected the outlook of museum, for example the tables in the cafeteria look in the style of Hundertwasser's  boldly-coloured paintings. The museum reflects artist's life: the exhibition contains a wide number of works: starting with the flags, which Hundertwasser created for New Zealand and Australia, and finishing with his architecture projects. For example Friedenreich was fighting for disabled rights, and in order to show how hard their life in the city is, he made a rough wavy pavement, using of which is not comfortable for everyone. He wanted to show people the live of disabled, which face such problems in the city everyday. The models of such pavement and of Hundertwasser houses are presented in the museum. The most interesting of them has trees and animals on its roof. Hundertwasser cared of environment as well, and thought that every house should be environment friendly and all-sufficient. In one of his projects he made the reality of this ideas and this is very impressive.

Being Hundertwasser's lover I am very subjective, but still: the museum and its exhibition are grate. It provides you not only with the information about Hundertwasser's work, but also about his life in the chronological order. Even though, the created flags were not used by the countries and the ideas of all-sufficient were not realized in reality (Hundertwasser projected a number of houses, very unusual and colorful, but they don't satisfy his conditions).
Cutting a long story short, I strongly recommend you to visit it, if you are in Vienna.
