India - the country of contrasts and huge variety of cultures, the country of palaces and slums, tolerance and wars. Hampi became an example of how the war between Indians and Muslims, matter and time destroyed one of the most breath-taking constructions in the world.
One of these constructions is called Vijaya Vittala Temple this is one of the best sculptures in Hampi. The front part of this temple were built by Krishnadevaraya in 1513.This temple is constructed on a polytope foundation. The monolithic pillars have been sculpted with subtlety. These pillars are decorated with figures of angels, lotus and swans.
The architechture of Vijaya Vittala Temple seems to me very intellectual. All details of it are very thoughtful. For instance water drain. The up side down cone-shaped bottom facades help water to fall drop by drop landing in the deepenings where it goes to earth. Also, when playing music in this temple the same system helps sound to flow, so the music can be heard in 1,5 km from this temple.
I am deeply inspired by Indian architecture of 16th century, by its concept and functionality. I want everyone to have a chance to come and look at this masterpiece. To soak the beauty of it and to share it with people through their works as well.
