The glass pyramid in Paris, is inserted in space, so that it does not cover the facade of the palace. It is just below the Louvre, besides elements of the building are visible through the glass.The large glass pyramid was built by Ieoh Ming Pei in 1989 and the lighting project was developed by American designer Claude Engle.
Despite the fact that the performance of the pyramid contrasts with the Louvre's Style, I still felt an eclectic harmony, such as reflective tinted glass echoes the stone the Louvre - light ocher and honey. The item that attracted me most was the stair-elevator located in the center of the pyramid. The unusual design draws the eyes of visitors, where the elevator literally grows out of the ground. It is intended for the carriage of handicapped people and those with disabilities. The general system of the Russian organization of space is such that facilities for people with disabilities are not provided. Europeans have much more significant contributions in this area. But still, this elevator is exceptional in its location, it is in the center of the pyramid, in the limelight, even though as a rule such elevators are located in the most remote places.
This integration of people with disabilities is not something to be ashamed of, because they are part of society, in this case the center of this society. In my opinion, this is the point the architects were trying to convey in having an elevator in the pyramid.
