New Year - a great holiday for all people in Moscow. During the holidays there are a lot of different events. The entire city center turns into a big fair with huge number of different activities. There are small fairs, festivals and exhibitions in the beginning of the year. Many artists have participated in these fairs this year. Various installations are placed through the small streets and lanes of the city center.
One of the biggest Moscow installations is a projection of a light show on Bolshoi Theatre building, last year the theme was «Around the World», this year it is the "City of Angels".

For a few hours during 3 days in the evening Teatralnaya Square is transformed into a parallel reality. The facade of the Bolshoi Theatre turns into a huge screen on which pictures and patterns are projected. To create these paintings artists were inspired by crafts: ornaments are traced by the motives in Palekh and Rostov paintings, as well as the style of Faberge. Patterns are consists of different animals, abstractions, bright colors and accompanied by classical music. All of these details plunges guests into a holiday spirit
This event is very unusual for Moscow people and gets a lot of viewers.
