Kover-Version

The exhibition in Manezh called "Kover version. Mark Patlis Collection "is entirely based on the private collection of Mark Patlis, collector of paintings and antique carpets. Mark Patlis - a recognized expert in the field of antique carpets and tapestries.

The exhibition involves immersion in the environment familiar, yet surprising objects surrounding each person throughout his life. This is real, tangible objects, sometimes passing from generation to generation, the carriers of the memory of the most valuable and deep feelings. For all its household utilitarian, they fill the space around us with various meanings, from the practical application to rethinking aesthetic reality.

One of these objects of cultural studies in the framework of the exhibition is carpet. Known for many thousands of years and if stored properly able to live for century. The eternal human desire to decorate our life turned out carpet utilitarian object which warms and protects into a work of art. Millions of threads in carpets in the talented hands turn into amazing and sometimes minimalistic pictures that can capture the imagination of the viewers.

The exhibition "kover version. Mark Patlis Collection "is entirely based on the collection of Mark Patlis. What I really liked about this exhibition is that carpets are presented in conjunction with the work of art, furnishings and pieces of furniture, creating a complex, multi-level environment.

The main idea of the project "kover version. Collection Mark Patlis " is to disclose to the public the secret of the collector: demonstrate how seemingly ordinary objects are transformed into the interior artwork.
