Salvador Dali and Media

The Moscow Museum of Modern Art presents artworks of Salvador Dali in the light of media. The show is divided into two parts which are connected with each other. The first one demonstrates Dali at work. The second part a world of images which are an integral part of the era of the Fourth Estate, where the artist worked. The exhibition makes the spectator appreciate the other side of his talent.

In the 1940s Dali moved to America where he became a celebrity. American magazines was struggled for his face on the cover. Collaboration between Salvador Dali and media had an enormous success due to his ability to communicate with readers using understandable symbols that made any Dali campaign successful. The exhibition shows the brightest covers and illustrations for such magazines as Vogue, GQ, TV Guide, Newsweek, Town&Countryand many others. He was not only the artist and art director, but also the  writer and editor. It is hard not to agree with the fact that Salvador Dali was a master of marketing.

  1. Such exibitions are rarity in Moscow and should be popular. Dali was genius person who could make the show in all art areas and have his own unique approach which was awesome, extraordinary, breathtaking. I hope we will have such exibitions more and more often through which we will discover new faces of famous artists. Volkova Nataliya, L4.
