During our trip to Rotterdam this spring one of the objects that we have visited were Cube Houses. Set of houses were build in 1984 by the project of architect Piet Blom.
Innovative decision was to rotate cubes under the angle of 45 degrees and put it on hexagon-shaped pylon. The design were created to symbolize village inside a city. Each house is a tree and whole structure together - forest.
As we knew that now this is houses not only for living but also there are a lot of shops inside and some places where students live. Yellow color became not so bright and all the windows are half dirty and half covered with advertising
I guess that it used to be a very nice place inside the structure with inside garden. But I felt that it does not let the light come inside. And it is very windy, although, may be it is Holland weather!
Unfortunately we could not come inside, but there are no 90 degree walls inside and all the furniture are made by a special design. But there is the question: for how long it will stay interesting and fun? Are people become tired of living in such apartment? To demonstrate the interior I have found this photo in internet.
On the conclusion I would like to add that inspire all negative parts, this structure was built in 1984 and for this time it is very innovative and brave. May be now it have lost some qualities, but still it is a great place to visit!

You forgot to mention one aspect of its functionality: it is also a pedestrian bridge in order to cross the "Blaak" (a (too) busy road, and therefore dangerous and/or time consuming to cross at ground level). The nickname of the whole thing is "Het Blaakse Bos" (The "Blaak Forest"), btw
